Installation Instructions
IMPORTANT: Read all
instructions carefully and become familiar with all parts before
installation.
STEP 1
Sill track (A) is over-cut. Measure opening for sill track and
cut 7/8" less than measurement to allow for wall jambs (B).
Position sill track on curb with the low side to the inside
of the shower. Leave equal space at each end.
STEP 2
Place wall jambs in vertical position over sill track and press
all the way down (short legs to wall). Using a level to plumb
each wall jamb, mark and drill holes for plastic anchors (E)
using a 3/16" masonry bit. For fiberglass and acrylic stalls,
use a 1/8" bit. Fasten jambs with #8 x 1 1/2" panhead screws (F).
Orient the bumpers (P) so that the inside panel will pocket
into the wall jamb closest to the shower head and attach using
#6 x 3/4 panhead screws (N).
STEP 3
Header (D) is over-cut. Measure for header and cut 1/16” less
than opening. Place header down on top of wall jambs (B).
STEP 4
To set tempered glass panels (G) in place, lift the inside panel
inserting rollers into header (D) and lower into place. Next
lift outside panel in place, being sure bottom of panel is inside
sill track (A), and insert rollers into header. If either panel
needs to be adjusted for plumb, remove from header and move
roller position in hanger bracket until panel is square with
jamb.
Note: If unit is made
with obscure glass, orient panels so that the smoother side
of glass is to the inside of unit.
STEP 5
Insert sill guide (H) into the slot on sill track dam and position
in center of track (A). Align panels (G) inside guide. Secure
guide with # 6 x 3/8” self drilling TEK screws (C).
IMPORTANT: DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN.
STEP 6
Insert forked ends of towel bar brackets (K) into open ends
of towel bars (J). Using the finger pulls provided (L), position
towel bar assembly on panel and attach with #4-40 X 3/4” (M) and
#6 X 3/8” self drilling TEK screws (C). The finger pulls are
installed on the panel edges that pocket into the bumpers.
Note: The forked ends
of the brackets may be spread slightly to ensure a snug fit.
STEP 7
Caulk all edges and joints exposed to water including where
ends of sill track meet interior surface of wall jambs using
a silicone based caulk or other suitable sealant that will prevent
water leakage.
