Installation Instructions

IMPORTANT: Read all instructions carefully and become familiar with all parts before installation.

NOTE: For 1/4" Glazed Units, Skip to STEP 2.

STEP 1 — Attaching Hanger Brackets

For 1/4" KD units:

Attach two hanger brackets (J) to both glass panels (I). Apply a bead of silicone into open part of bracket (both inside surfaces) before attachment to glass. To attach hanger bracket to glass, tighten installed screws into leg of bracket is depressed 1/32". Center of brackets should be 5" from edge of glass.

NOTE: Let silicone cure for 24 hours before hanging panels.

For 3/8" units:

Attach two hanger brackets (J) to both glass panels (I). Apply a thin bead of silicone into the open part of the bracket (both inside surfaces) before attachment to the glass. Place the clear silicone sleeves into the 3/8" diameter holes in the top of the glass panel. Place the hangers over the glass and secure them using the 10-32 x 5/8" long flathead screws provided. Tighten the screws to securely clamp the hangers onto the glass.

STEP 2

The sill track (A) is provided oversized. Measure the inside wall opening on tub or shower ledge. Cut the sill track 1/2" less than this measurement. Apply a bead of silicone to bottom flat edges of sill track. Lay flat on tub or shower ledge with low side to the inside. Leave equal space at each end.

STEP 3

Place wall jambs (D) in vertical position over sill track (A) and press all the way down (Short legs to the wall). Using a level to plumb each wall jamb, mark and drill holes for plastic anchors (E) using a 3/16" masonry bit. For fiberglass and acrylic stalls, use a 1/8" bit. STEP 4 Secure wall jambs with #8 x 1-1/2" screws (F) in top and bottom holes. Use bumpers (G) in the center holes of wall jambs and secure with #6 x 1-1/2" screws (P). Orient the bumpers (G) so that the inside panel of the by-pass will pocket into wall jamb closest to the shower head.

STEP 5

The header (H) is provided oversized. Measure the inside wall opening at the top of the jamb (D) and cut the header 1/16" less than this measurement. Place the header in place over the jambs.

STEP 6

To set the tempered glass panels (I) in place, lift the inside panel inserting rollers (J) into header (H) and lower into place. Next lift outside panel in place being sure bottom of panel is inside sill track (A) and insert rollers into header. Avoid bracket to bracket contact while lifting panels into place. If either panel needs to be adjusted for plumb, remove from header and move roller position in hanger bracket until panel is square with jamb.

STEP 7

Slip sill track guide (B) into position in center of sill track (A) aligning panels (I) inside sill guide. Secure with #6 x 3/8" panhead screws (C).

IMPORTANT: Do not over tighten.

STEP 8

Install towel bars (K) on glass panels (I) using hardware supplied. Flat plastic washers (L) are installed on both sides of the glass and the plastic towel bar sleeves (O) fit inside the holes in the glass. The towel bar bolts (M) can be tightened using the 5/64" Allen wrench (N) provided.

NOTE: To avoid damage to screw heads, DO NOT attempt to tighten with pliers or wrenches.

STEP 9

Silicone all edges and joints exposed to water including where ends of sill track meet interior surface of wall jambs.
